Everything is serviced in our own workshop, fitted by people who ski the club fields every weekend, and ready the night before.

Hire days run from pick-up until close the next day, so a night-before pick-up doesn't cost you an extra day. NZD incl. GST.

Damage waiver $5/day covers accidental damage to skis and boards, but not loss or kea attacks. Seriously.
The bit of kit nobody tells you about.
Broken River, Craigieburn, Mt Olympus and Temple Basin run nutcracker rope tows. You wear a harness and clip on with a steel nutcracker. Some fields hire them at the ticket window, but they often run out on a busy Saturday. Ours come with a lesson.

Practise in our yard, not on the road.
Club field access roads are steep, narrow and unsealed, and the field will often say "chains must be carried" or "fitted". Most hire cars don't come with chains, and most people have never fitted them. We fix both.

- A practice fit on your own car in the yard, with a mat to kneel on
- Gloves and a torch in every bag
- Return them wet. We dry and check every set.

If you're heading beyond the tows or touring off Temple Basin, carry the kit and know how to use it. Read the NZ Avalanche Advisory forecast the night before.

Keep it all winter.
Fitted once, yours from opening day to the last tow. Includes a mid-season tune. Kids can swap sizes once if they grow. Pre-orders for next winter open 1 March.

Ski or board package, a helmet and one size swap.
Club field season
Ski or board package plus your own nutcracker and harness for the winter.
Family of four
Two adult and two kids' packages. Add nutcrackers for $40 each.
Tell us who's skiing. We'll have it on the bench.
Add everyone in your group with their height, weight, boot size and ability. We'll set bindings before you arrive, so pick-up takes minutes.
Free changes up to 24 hours before pick-up. If your field doesn't open, we'll move your booking or refund you in full.

Do the club fields hire gear?
Most don't hire skis or boards on the hill. Some hire nutcrackers and harnesses at the ticket office, but stock is limited on busy days. Check with your field. If you need skis, boots or a board, get them on the way up.
Can I ride a rope tow on a snowboard?
Yes, but it's harder. Take your back foot out, put the nutcracker on your front hip and keep the board pointing straight up the track. We'll show you on the practice rope. Expect to fall off once. Everyone does.
What if the road's closed or the field doesn't open?
If the field you booked for doesn't open, or the access road is closed, we'll move your hire to another day or refund it in full. Text us before 9am and it's sorted.
Do I really need chains?
Club field access roads are unsealed mountain roads. When the field says chains must be carried, you need them in the car, and the road crew may turn you around without them. 2WD cars often have to fit them. If you're unsure, hire them. It's cheaper than a tow truck.
Can I return gear after hours?
Yes. Use the return shed beside the shop, which has a drop slot for boots and racks for skis and boards. Leave boots unbuckled and chains in their bag. We check everything in by 8am and text you once it's done.
Do you do servicing?
Our workshop does edges, wax and base repairs year-round, plus binding checks before the season. Drop off on your way up and pick up on your way home.
